We take the view that seeing is believing. So, we invest time and resource in trade show attendance that offers the outside world an opportunity to see our technologies close-up. Please contact us for a full list of the trade shows and events we’re attending in 2024. We also have a range of videos available – and, of course, you’re welcome to order a sample pump.

Our business model is to sell our pump technologies through our network of approved distributors – we are active in many territories across Africa, Asia and South America. We realise that our partner distributors like to see (and test) technologies for themselves. So, we offer sample units which you’re able to test at your own pace. Usually, these are shipped to you within 10 working days by air freight. We are at your service from the moment the sample(s) are delivered to support you, gain valuable insights and answer any technical questions.

We made a decision not to offer free sample units because we think it devalues our technology and it’s not a fair or reasonable business request. However, as our distributor, you will recover – in full – the purchase price (exclusive of freight costs) of your sample when you place a stock order with us at or above our minimum order value.

Yes, we do! But this can depend on the region / local markets – and is based on a minimum order quantity. Let’s have a conversation about your anticipated volumes to set expectations.

Impact Pumps is a fully owned subsidiary of Thermofluidics Limited which has been operating since 2006. Thermofluidics has developed a portfolio of innovative pump technologies and now has a range of water pumping solutions to address a range of challenges in the agricultural and building services sectors as well as community water access. Our award-winning pump technologies were developed in collaboration with the University of Oxford, UK Research & Innovation, the Wellcome Trust and several global industrial partners.

No, not usually – but, as part of our onboarding process, we might ask for references to help with our sales qualification process.

Yes, we can offer distributors exclusivity on a case-by-case basis. This is dependent on Minimum Order Value (MOV) and market expectations. If exclusivity is important to you – let’s have an initial no-obligation conversation and see what you’re looking to achieve.

Yes! We can share samples of our Marketing collateral that is available in English, French, Spanish and Portuguese-Brazilian.

Yes, we do.  Our Onboarding Process is summarised as:

  1. We start off with a discovery call – we aim to understand what you’re looking for from the partnership including your commercial expectations and aspirations.
  2. See our pumps close-up – if you would like a sample, we can ship you a unit by air freight within 10 working days. We will follow up with a feedback call or a short online questionnaire 4-6 weeks after you take delivery. Completion of our Samples Feedback Questionnaire confirms your eligibility for the refund of your sample unit with your first stock order.
  3. Pre-agreement in Principle – at this early stage, we offer a Letter of Intent which sets the tone of the detail of the relationship. This needs your signature – but, it’s not legally binding.  This takes us a step closer to a fully-signed Distribution Agreement.
  4. Formal sign-off and first stock order – We offer an optional ‘walk through’ of the Distributor Agreement and T&Cs on TEAMS or Zoom prior to your sign-off. Your agreement is then fully confirmed with your first stock order.
  5. Working together your trading relationship with Impact Pumps is taken care of by our Distributor & Partnerships Manager and our Senior Product Manager (for technical queries). We can provide Marketing for Lead Generation to help your business grow. Typically, Qualified Leads are sent in batches of 10 for your follow-up. We will also recommend customers contact you directly as their local Distributor.
  6. Get to know our products – training is advisable and free of charge. For some of our products this is delivered online by video call / or, via a pre-recorded training video. You’re welcome to share these training resources with your own end-user customers – we want them to feel confident using our technology too.
  7. Keeping in touch – typically, we agree a quarterly review to look at sales volumes and gather feedback and queries. This also gives us an opportunity to share what’s new at our end.

As pioneers in also offering profitable, affordable and reliable solar-powered water access to many rural communities in Sub-Saharan Africa, we are continually replacing polluting diesel pumps with our clean solar technologies to meet the daily water needs of thousands of people. We are proud of our contribution to reducing carbon emissions over many years and delighted to work with our distributor partners to further this important agenda.

Yes – Impact Pumps expects to achieve Net Zero by 2030. We are very proud of our contribution to global carbon reduction efforts and the elimination of carbon-based fuel usage.

We also have made a commitment to achieving the SBTi Net Zero Standard – the new net-zero emissions standard for businesses that is compatible with the Paris Agreement. The standard requires deep decarbonisation of 90-95% of emissions by 2050 and sets out near- and long-term targets for the entire value chain. The remaining 5 to 10% of value chain emissions are planned to be achieved via carbon offset projects that reduce emissions outside our value chain.

Most of our packaging is now recyclable – and for the small percentage that is non-recyclable, we are committed to resolve this as part of our sustainability roadmap.

Yes, we do. We are always looking at ways we can reduce our carbon footprint at the shipping stage. Most of our pumps are shipped to site in containers. Wherever possible, this stock is palletised to optimise container space for ease of shipping (thereby reducing the carbon footprint of the shipment).

We own the IP / design and key tooling for all of our technologies. However, we do not manufacture the pumps ourselves – this is done by our expert manufacturing partners in China. Our Senior Product Manager makes regular trips to China to ensure optimum quality assurance at all stages of the manufacturing process.

We are very confident about the quality of pump technologies, and we now have evidence of 5 years (20,000 hours) of continuous, maintenance-free operation for our FlexExtend pump. You can read our blog on this here. Our products are designed to provide 15 – 20 years of service, if regularly maintained and operated in accordance with guidelines.

Yes, we do. We are really committed to delivering exceptional after sales support. We offer a very comprehensive Warranty Document – and these are available via our website.
